So everybody tends to have mixed reviews about how writing on Medium for a month worked out for them. Some report no results, some report massively overwhelming changes. Some talk about the massive amount of money they’ve made within the month.

I’m talking today about the changes I’ve witnessed in the last month for me. I’ve discovered writing every day is not a hard task at all, the hard part is finding something to write about every day without failure. I realised I can’t exactly continue on in the same train of thought all the time and have tried to publish different pieces every day. I’ve done articles, blog entries, short stories and poetry.

The success rate is substandard. I wrote without promoting my links too much. I wanted to see how it would be if I just wrote and published without promoting much, aside from posting the link at the time I’d published onto my Twitter and other social media. In terms of engagement, I found it very lacking, unless I spent time talking to people and then giving them my link or going onto Medium and providing feedback for other people’s work.

You have to remember it’s not an exclusive site for YOU, it’s for everyone. You need to remember hundreds of pieces are probably being published on a daily basis so the visibility levels will be a lot lower for your own piece…
