How Do You Write?

A Poem

Where is your favourite place to get some writing done?

Are you a sit-in-the-corner kind of person, out the way, all alone?

Or do you prefer the bustle of coffee shops, being around everyone?

Do you like being organised, sitting at a desk?

Or do you find calm in your organised mess?

Do you write with pen and paper or use a laptop?

Is it neat? Is it tidy? Is your work all stacked up?

Are you inspired all the time and find it easy to write?

Or is your struggle full of discipline where you try to focus with all your might?

Do you find you’re a night owl when you get it all done?

Or do you prefer the day time and take it as it comes?

I prefer my peace, my time all alone,

But I can listen to music until it’s all done.

I love writing at my desk and in coffee shops,

But I hate loud sounds when I write, my left ear always pops.

Sensory overload, I think it’s called.

It comes with tinnitus, God, I feel old!

I once told someone that writing for me is like breathing,
